About the project:
FAUNOS is a European project aimed at combating organised environmental crime by improving prevention, detection and investigation capacities. The project builds upon previous EU-funded research initiatives and advances them towards an operational deployment environment. It integrates technological innovation, regulatory compliance, and end-user training into a coherent implementation framework.
What are we facing?
Organised environmental crime is one of the most profitable criminal activities worldwide and represents a growing threat to ecosystems, public health, economic stability, and the rule of law. Illegal waste trafficking, pollution offences, and environmental fraud require enhanced technological capabilities, interoperable data systems, and admissible digital evidence.
